Killing For Sport (Shia LaBeouf)

APOLOGIES and sorrys and excuses to anyone who has been furious about my lack of recent activity here (he whispers into the wind). Inspired by Writing101, I’m trying to shuffle some things together to get ready for NaNoWriMo, which may or may not work out for me, but which I’m going to take a hearty stab at in any case. If, in doing so, I happen to inadvertently murder my novel I’ll no doubt be posting here again very soon.

On that note, I thought I’d share this following delightful and bloodthirsty snippet of strangeness, which features a good example of the usage of second person narrative point of view. I tried this myself a while back for empathetic reasons, but in this musical example it is used very effectively for added dramatic, and comedic, effect.

That is so fantastically done, thanks for sharing it! I also signed up for NaNoWriMo a couple of weeks ago after completing the Writing 101 course… I’m rather scared.

Terrified. 50,000 is a lot of words, and I’m NOT prolific!

      • Me neither. I’ve adopted a new mantra… ‘one day at a time, one day at a time, one day at a time…” If I say it enough it might start sinking in and it’ll push out that huge number that keeps circling around in my head amidst a sea of exclamation points!

Yeh, best not to think about the Big Number. I reckon keeping pace through the first week will be hardest, and after that there should be momentum, right?

      • It makes sense, hopefully after a few days there will be some flow to push us along! The pessimistic side of me says that it will happen, but the first few days of work will probably be terrible. We shall see. Good luck!

My NaNoWriMo user name is laurafeasey if you’d like some writing buddy support on the site. I’m not quite sure how it works but the more support the better right?!
